Re: Flucuating (eratic) revs at idle
Tried the above which appears to have worked (Sort of lol!!) Once the car has reached it’s normal running temp and is in neutral it will idle at around 2 mm over 1000rpm. After around 6 seconds it will drop down 1000rpm and stay there. There is no erratic needle movement. It will stay bang on 1000rpm. Brilliant. My only concern is should it be ticking over at 1000rpm. Is this a little too high. What should a 156 tick over at? As I stated earlier the needle does not fluctuate and after 5 -6 seconds of being at a stand still the needle will rest on 1000rpm. If I tap the accelerator and watch the needle, it will return back down to 1mm or 2mm above the 1000rpm mark but after 5-6 seconds it will drop to 1000rpm and stay there. If this is okay what was wrong which made the revs drop as low as say 500rpm then rise up to 1000rpm?
