I recently bought an Alfa romeo 147 from a garage which is quite a long drive away from where I live. I had the car which I absolutely loved for two weeks when I broke my leg quite badly.
I got someone to start it up a couple of times for me but it was left for about 2 weeks without being started at all. I then went to start it and it was dead. I got my girlfriend to use jump leads from her car and got it started. We drove it round for a bit and it seemed fine. I then started it again and it started.
The next day I went to start it again and nothing! Surely this cant be down to it being left. I thought that because I ran it for a good 10 minutes that it would be fine. Should I buy a new battery?
Now there is another problem, I felt behind the driver seat and there was a puddle of water. Im making this car sound like a right wreck but it is a Y reg that has done 18,000 miles. It has a brilliant service history, and had one every year since new. Has anyone come across this problem before? Funds are low at the moment so taking it to a garage isnt great. Also taking it back to the garage I bought it from is difficult as I still cant drive as I am recovering from my break.
Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance.
