Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and the owner of a 2005 147 facelift model.

This morning (Monday) I noticed my sun roof was slightly ajar; the dial was turned one click anticlockwise. This dial position only results in slight elevation of the sun roof (say 0.5-1.0cm with a slight forward tilt), but after a weekend of heavy rain this had me pretty worried. I checked in the sun roof cavity and there is some dampness but no apparent major water presence.

The feel of the metal channels etc in the cavity led me to believe there must be some built in sun roof drainage system and some of the threads on this forum suggest this is the case. Could anyone tell me how effective the sun roof drain system is and whether I need to worry? Based on the lack of retraction and only minor elevation of the sun roof I don't think much water would have entered, and it seems there is a slight gap even when the sun roof is fully closed, but it would be good to confirm!

Yes there is inbuilt drainage, but it never does any harm to check that the drains are clear.....
