Re: GT Alternator has packed up!!!
Hi, unfortunately its no longer under warrenty as it was a Cat D stolen recovered in it's past so its void. Although not a worry as the car was bought for pennies.
Just annoying that this should fail within such a short period. My old 156 never had a problem in the 2 years i owned it, and took the miles up to 105k.
Found a new alternator in town for £120 + VAT, going picking it up now. I'll write a quick description of how to do the job, hopefully will help anyone in the future wishing to do a DIY change on the JTD.
As for a new car, the idea is to keep this until summer, then maybe a Civic Type R (Real japanese import version), or Meganne F1.
All the best! Andy
