156 2001 1.8 Engine fan woes

I've searched the forum and followed advice, but the fan still won't kick in when the car get to over 90 degrees.

I've tested the relays
Replaced the resistor in the radiator fan housing
Checked the fuses

But it still won't kick in, what am I missing?

Its triggered by the ECU when it receives a signal from the temp sensor - IIRC unplugging the sensor connector should cause the fans to kick in by default.
