Lick Caliper Painting tips please?

Hi there,

I have some nice calliper paint to put on my recently purchased 147!

I was wondering if anyone has specific tips on cleaning and masking them?

What is best to clean the calipers before painting?
Meths? WD40? Do I need to get brake cleaner?

Also what needs masking, can I take off the silver metal clip?

Does it need more than one coat? - Ithink I read that you mustn't put the second coat on after a certain amount of time?

And finally, does anyone know were I can get the 'Alfa Romeo' heat resistant decals to finish it all off nicely?

Many thanks!

Re: Caliper Painting tips please?

Brake cleaner and meths probably. They have to be spotless or the paint will flake off.

the spring pulls out of two small holes ... bit of a PITA to get back.

What does it say on the tin about coats? I have heard some people lacquer them after putting the decals on.

Decals on ebay!
