Re: Just Picked up Blackline Q2...

I think the dealer is trying to pull a fast one!

Drives just fine with 18"s looks much better, ride is slightly firmer but its a GT not Mondeo and is meant to be firm. The only downside to 18" is that sometimes you get torque steer under power on a camber (car feels like its pulling to the side) and on badly worn motorways it can tramline a bit in the nearside lane.

Don't do it, I am sure the dealer has a buyer for the 18"s and is jsut trying to make some cash, stick with them and if you change your mind later you can sell them and buy 17" and have change for sure.

Re: Just Picked up Blackline Q2...

18s are the way to go on the Blackline, they look great. Downsides are very big turning circle, very low tyre profile so totally unforgiving if you get too close to the kerb. Having said that, the stock 18s on the Blackline are much easier to clean and maintain than the 17" multispokes I had on my last GT and the difference in ride between the 2 is negligable in my opinion. Dealer is defo trying to pull a fast one here I think.

Good luck!

agreed. 18s are not 'too big', and look the part on the Blackline. it's what the Blackline is! those wheels help set it apart!
