Re: Help needed with a broken key
I had a rather more drastic problem with my key assembly when I picked up my new GT in March....the delivery driver had snapped off one of the keys from the fob! My supplier sent a new key assembly a few days later but the fob hadn't been programmed for the car. To save a long trip back to the dealer I just swapped the key blade with one in the original fob.
By gently easing away the AR badge you will see a small Phillips screw head. After first taking out the battery and with the key in the out position, undo this screw and the fob can be dismantled.
Try to do this at a table in case the springs in the flip mechanism decide to pop out. Getting the key blade flick mechanism back in is a little fiddly but not impossible.
The metal attachment blade should be easy enough to make out of a strip of metal. If you don't have any luck PM me and I could salvage the one out of my (broken) spare fob.
Thank you Tricky, you were no help at all.........
