147 Indicators Silent- DANGER??!

Hello there,

My 147 2.0L T-Spark 2001's
Indicators- they are silent.
Like no tick; nothing.
Absolutely silent.
This may be a dream for some people and it has been this way since I've had it.
The thing is in more than one occasion I have indicated as I am so thorough in doing so and when corner turned the indicators are still on but I'm looking at the road not at the dash immediately and so obviously can't hear it still on.

I am used to it now I guess but it has nearly caused an accident or two and one day there may be a serious shunt and that's at least bye bye Bella due to her probably being uneconomical to repair and also if I'm signalling wrongly I'd likely to be to blame!!!

1. Does your 147 have a matching tick or noise to the indicator lights?

2. If indeed my one should- how can I able the audio back on please?

on the 147, the indicators are controlled by the bodycomputer. In order to simulate the click, the bodycomputer also drives a relay purely to generate the clicking noise
In your case I assume this relay is dead.....

description (from elearn) :
The left and right direction indicators are operated by raising or lowering the left lever on the stalk unit. the function is activated with the ignition key in the ON position.

The hazard warning lights (right and left direction indicators operated simultaneously) are turned on by the pressing a button in the centre of the dashboard and both the direction indicators come on at the same time. An LED in the back of the button also comes on flashing in synchronization with the outside lights; the function is always activated.

The switching on of the direction indicators / hazard warning lights is managed by the Body Computer which also controls the flashing frequency which is sent to the other connectors via the CAN serial network.

In this way, the two direction indicator warning lights in the instrument panel are also lit up; in addition, as well as the flashing of the warning lights, the system also produces a low frequency auditory signal., via a relay in the Body Computer.

The correct operation of the lights is controlled by the direction indicators 'check' function: the following is controlled for each of the two circuits (right branch and left side):

open circuit or 21 W bulb missing (right front, right rear, left front, left rear)
short circuit to earth (bulb short circuit or wiring short circuit to earth)
short circuit to Vbatt (wiring short circuit to Vbatt)
5W bulb replaced with a 21 W bulb
If one of the situations described above is detected, the Body Computer notifies the CAN of the failure state: a special 'lights failure' warning light comes on in the instrument panel and, at the same time, the information is shown on the display. There is also a signal that one of the front or rear 21 W bulbs is missing with an increase in the nominal flashing frequency of the warning lights in the instrument panel and the auditory feedback (buzzer).

The direction indicators come on to notify the user that the command to close/open the doors has been received from the remote control
