I don’t think the two issues could be interconnected. Engine and airbag have separate ECUs. Airbag fault is most probably some loose connector or random fault and needs to be checked on examiner and reseted. The engine light has to be checked on examiner as well to read the fault; this might be caused by many things (random fault, lambdas, injectors, MAF, throttle actuator…)
BTW: check your battery; if it is low it can cause error lights, especially when you say the car runs fine. But even though it was just battery, you have to visit dealer for reset.
