Stripped out the inlet manifold today.
Traced the steel gasket onto gasket paper thats 1.2mm thick. Cut it out. Put the 1.6 inlet manifold back in with the solenoid from the vim as it had the newer type seal.
All back together and no oil leaks.
Put the 2.0 throttle body on.
So now so far the mods are, v6 intake pipe, 2.0 throttle body and 2.0 cams.
Had a lad at work plug the car in and remove any faults. Then I did an ecu reset following a guide on here.
Result. The car feels so much better. No flat spots anymore. Pulls along nicely too. It definitly geys up the road quicker in 1st to 3rd.
Also took it on the motorway tonight and it got to 120mph with ease.
Im also happier with the 1.6 inlet back in because there is no more strain on the loom.

Next on the list is to get rid of the precats and see is there any more improvements then eventually a map.

Nicely done.
I tried all sorts of combinations on mine, pretty much like you have, but really couldn't be bothered to fight with the manifold again, so the 2.0 stayed put!
The decat pipes I got lucky on and recently wrapped them too. That was fun... unnerving smoke clouds!!!
Made a huge difference to the car. Never gonna set a 9:00 at the Nurburgring but fun is the key with the 1600...

(Or a turbo, but that's next. )

Nitrous Oxide... One bottle. Couple of solenoids and a fogger in the inlet. T section on the Fuel line and you are instantly @ 180hp on the 1.6 for about 500.

Although bottle refills are about 60 (For circa two mins boost).

I kniw not to be expecting massive power but im happy with the little bit more poke. Plus I enjoy pulling cars apart so this was an experience.
A very handy way to get the inlet out is to undo the engine mounts and let the engine sit on a jack. Thats what I done. No sweating at all. Plus that pliers that undoes those clips is dead handy to have.
Should the exhaust manifold make a good difference?
Might pick one up next week and order some wrap on ebay
