GT Jtd Immobiliser VDC ABS Failure
Hi All - hoping some one might be able to shed some light on this for me as my car is currently immobile...
Here's what happened - towards the end of a 50 mile journey, stuck in stop/start traffic, somehow I managed to stall the car. After stalling, it wouldn't start - instead bringing up Immobiliz Failure, VDC Failure, ABS Failure. I ended up phoning a local tow firm to get the car home.
So far, I have:
Checked the ignition antenna connections, seems ok
Checked Battery with multimeter - seems good
Checked all fuses - all good
Checked contacts of all relays - all look clean & fit tight
Checked Gearbox earth strap - seems good
Now, I have just removed the engine cover to expose the ECU that sits by the cam belt cover. Pulled both of the ECU sockets/plugs. The socket nearest the bulkhead (the smaller of the two) did appear to have some wetness in it (see pic) - Could this, or is this likely to be the root of my problem?
Obviously any moisture in there is no good - so what should I do for the best? 5-10 minutes with a hairdryer? Should I introduce some electrical contact cleaner into the plug/socket or not? Electrics aren't my favourite subject...
Does anyone have any other ideas as to possible cause of the failures/warnings above?
Many thanks in advance!
