Re: 156 jtd compression problem
The guys at HRG are top notch, Alfie will sort it for you. They bought some new bosch equipment for my GT JTD when it was there a few months ago to diagnose some problems, so they have the very best equipment available.
What was the warning message on the dash? There are a number of things which this could be, the majority will cost very little to fix - Cam/crank sensors, or any other sensor really - most when not working will tell the ECU not to let the engine start as a precaution.
Could also be a fuel problem, the initial 'fire' would point to this, the fuel in the cylinders combusted, then there was none left - this could be fuel pump, fuel pump relay, or fuel cut off switch activated.
If the AA can't get a fault code it means it is a specific Alfa one, of which the crank sensor would be.
