bushes vs warranty!
hi people. First time writer - big time Alfa fan.
My question is - I own a 156 2.0 JTS 2004 model which I took in today for a service (48000 miles) and an MOT.
It failed its MOT due to the bushes in the front wishbones (I'm not a mechanic so don't know what these are particularly other than a piece of rubber). They are going to change the wishbones at the garage but have said that it does not come under the warranty due to wear and tear. I argued that the wishbones come under our extensive warranty which they have agreed, but there clause is the wear and tear factor which they judge on whether that component should have broken in the time scale and amount of mile driven.
Is it common for the bushes to go in 3 years/48000 miles? The answer will either put my mind at rest or give me new ammunition to approach the garage again. Thank you
