GT 3.2 v6 - poor cold start when freezing.
Still loving the v6 and very pleased with my purchase after 6 days.
I mentioned previously that it has a noisy tappet noise on cold start that goes away after a minute, and an occasional judder at idle.
This morning was the first time I started the car in the proper frost so it was -2c and the symptoms above seemed worse and then some.
For the first 10 seconds or so the throttle would barely respond at all. It struggled to get 2000rpm and when I did rev it there was another loud buzzing from the engine. This all cleared up very quickly and by the time the windows had been scraped of ice it was completely back to normal.
Can anyone advise if this is pointing to a significant problem? I strongly suspect the spark plugs haven't been done in a while so this is first on my list closely followed by an oil change. Going to be plenty more freezing nights in the next couple of months so I don't want to damage anything.
Is there a way to test the hydraulic lifters in situ? I have no problem pulling the cam covers off.
