Re: Alfa 156 1.8 Petrol Fuel Consumption
Yes I will explain Jug
I do the same mileage every week to work over 5 days. I always put into the tank £20 of fuel which in fuel prices up here is about 21 Litres. My travel to work is approx 10 miles on A roads with stops/starts and 22 miles of Motorway.. Total 32 miles/day which is 160 Miles per week this gives me a combined cycle of different roads of about 34 Mpg.
When on a motorway run to see the inlaws, which is 70 miles of motorway non stop each way, total 140 miles, costs me about £15 for the round trip, which gives me a steady 41mpg.
I used to own a 164 T Spark and even though that was a heavier car and had a 2.0L 8 Valve engine, that returned a better MPG than my SW.
I have always used Shell RON95, nothing else including the crap off spec petrol they sell at supermarkets. Since running Alfa's always used shell.
If you cannot believe my mpg, then lets swap cars and compare
