I did my 145 Cloverleaf from the top. You will need to remove the MAF, and intake piping, as well as the throttle body.
The connector for the crank sensor is brown and is clipped on the inlet manifold, you can see it without removing anything.
Just follow the wire down and the sensor is on the end, just below the stater motor. You will need a 5mm allen key to unsrew it and it is retained by one M6 screw.
I am not sure if the 156 is similar to the 145 but I could bot get at the sensor from below because the steering rack, and anti roll bar were in the way.
You will never be cool driving a Vauxhall.
