156 Mot

I have a 156 1.8 T.spark thats due an MOT on the 7th. The car is a 52 plate wit 42,000 miles. Just wondering if there is any areas that i should be checking out before i put her in. I know the passenger side top ball joint has a bit of play in it. If there is anything that i should check could u please let me know..

Re: 156 Mot

The suspension bushes are always a risk on MOTs for 156s. Mine was 8 years old and had done 60k before any play was detected. Check the front brake pipe, as described in thread at the top, posted by Dave C. So far my car hasn't failed an MOT, I just do the usual DIY checks on brakes, bulbs, tyres and windscreen washers before I take it in.

Yup, all the bushes. Just had my suspension overhauled so it should sail through its MOT in December.

Fingers Crossed!

Re: 156 Mot

As above on the bushes and general checks.

Just got in from my 147's MOT, passed fine, no advisories. Bushes and arms is what the tester has seen a lot of on MOT's for Alfa's (Alfa specialist).
