2.4jtd belt slipping

Hi all
I have just done my alternator belt again and figured out that the belt keeps jumping over one v rib over the edge of the alternator pulley. I am assuming that the tensioner is not lined up and guiding the belt over the pulley.
Has anyone came across this and does this sound right only asking as there not the cheapest parts to buy.

look at the pulley before the alternator pulley, the belt runs clockwise. the previous pulley dictates how the belt will run. isn't that an idler, as the tensioner is on the front?

Check your alternator pulley can only turn in one direction.
