Right , after starting to replace the front upper and lower wishbones on my 156 v6 I noticed one of the coil springs was broken and after 9 years of grit and grime the shocks are looking well past it too.
So it looks like I'm going to have to part with some money and buy a complete set of shocks and springs.
I've searched the forums and seen some of you have mixed combinations (koni sports and H&R springs) with sometimes mixed results.
I drive mainly on bumpy uneven A and B roads with no motorway driving at all so I would rather the ride comfort wasn't much firmer than standard and not too much lower either.(difficult customer
Option 1. Koni Yellow sportkit with blue springs £400
Option 2. Koni FSDs with Eibach springs £650
Option 3. Eibach pro kit springs and shocks £600
Option 4. Standard Alfa springs and shocks £450
Has any of you out there fitted any of these kits and did they meet your expectations?
A few shops I've spoken to rave about the Koni fsds but I wonder if they're suitable for my type of driving
The Koni yellow sportkit drops the car 40mm which I think could be too low and firm
The Eibach prokit has had some favourable comments for ride quality which is right up my street and only drops it 30mm
Or do I play it safe and just buy the standard stuff.
I just dont want to spend £600 and end up disappointed
Help! I can't make my mind up and my cars off the road until I do
