I've cleared the glass out - and have the cuts from the door panel to prove it - and the retaining stuff looks quite simple.
There's a metal slider on the uprights of the door, which has a flat profile with a bump in the centre. I'm guessing that the replacement glass will have a little groove for that to fit into.
At the bottom it just has a circular roller, fixed onto the power window assembly.
I'm assuming that the basic principle is the same as when I did my chevette 15 years ago - drop the glass through the hole on an angle, with the roller wound right down, straighten it up, sit it in the post channels and then wind it back up... right?
