Yeah it can be a pain, especially when the rusty bolts holding on the air filter lid sheer off, or round off..

Also, you'll have to move the fuse clip thing fron the front of the battery to get at it, and bend that 180 pipe back out of the way, its a right job, which is one reason why I got myself a CDA to replace the whole air-filter-in-a-box setup.

Believe it or not, it's in the owners manual

I would change the order around slightly tho...

Start by undoing the 3 bolts at the top of the air filter housing that hold the air pipe in place (with horseshoe clamps). Once loosened & removed, pull this hose out of it's housing, and bend it out of the way a bit. Then you have pretty good access to the 2 bolts holding the fuse bank to the battery tray (mine had plastic covers over the bolts that needed screwing off first). once the fuse bank is loosened, just yank it out of the way towards the headlight. Then you can access the bolts/screws that hold the top onto the air filter hoousing. Undo these, the lid comes off, then you can pull the air filter out.

I did mine last week when I put a K&N in there.
