I've lived with the GT windows not working properly for some time now.
It started out with the windows stepping, cured by the usual up for 10 secs, down for 10 secs routine.
Then it got to the stage where the passenger window works but the driver's window doesn't, except for when it sometimes does.
Then I had periods where neither window worked. I noticed that when this happened, the odometer would flash and the temp display would be missing from the dashboard. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting sometimes fixed this, sometimes not.
Other strange things have recently started to happen, for instance, when I open the drivers door, sometimes the hatch will open. The hatch doesn't always open when I press the remote button on the fob now, but sometimes it does!
Then finally the other day I went to fill up and the petrol cap button doesn't work, so I opened it with the emergency release, luckily I knew where it was. Then when I was sitting waiting for the AA yesterday (cambelt failure) I heard a repeated relay/switch noise, and when I got home I noticed that the petrol flap was open, and the drivers window worked! (which I put down to get the car pushed onto the driveway, and now can't get back up).
I have checked the fuses (all OK), the switch in the door (still working) and the connection in the door (looks fine). I have come to the conclusion that the hatch, petrol cap, windows are all linked, but how!!
I have read through a lot of the threads here about windows and tried most of the suggestions, but there may be something I have missed or maybe something someone knows that can help. Are the hatch, petrol cap, windows linked or is it a ridiculously frustrating co-incidence?
Any help or ideas gratefully received....
