What makes you think theres something wrong with the actuator, other than the fault code reader?
Did you check to see if there was a split in the intercooler to inlet manifold pipe?
well had a good look when i got home, Jacked the car up, checked all the pipe work from the air filter to the turbo, turbo to intercooler and intercooler (intercooler felt a little loose, don't know if this is normal or not), to throttle and all is ok, i then tried to see if i could move the actuator, which I couldn't.
I then soaked in GT-85, didn't have any WD40, and tried again, eventually getting it free, the actuator arm looked really rusty.
Anyway, don't think it is fully free but does move much easier now, thanks Nomad for the advice.
Going to have another go this weekend, and cancel the garage visit on Thursday but i am feeling turbo boost now at about 2000 rpm, and can hear the gosh sound as i change gear.
Don't think the issue is fully sorted but hopefully this will buy me some time, can't really afford anymore garage bills at the moment, at least the corolla idea is a distant nightmare now........
Thanks to everyone for your help, you've saved me some big money (hopefully).
