It shouldn't matter but it might, that you have the lead polarity wrong in your video. Red lead should go to the battery terminal, black lead to the load side.
But I am suspicious you didn't find a blown fuse in the meter. Amps across a dead short, when you put the meter across the battery terminal, would have been huge. Unless it has some smart electronic protection for overload, I'd expect something to be instantly fried. Consult instructions for the meter, or online for that model, I daresay.
