Rad and thermostat change, now overheating and hissing coolant cap
Hi guys, I have just replaced my radiator and thermostat on the 156 jtdm sport as the thermostats never worked and the rad got a hole in it.
Now it's my first radiator change so it's probably something I have done, well haven't done, after I replaced the rad and thermostat I filled the car up with ready made antifreeze not sure how much just untill it said full and unscrewed the little screw on the top left of the rad and ran it for 15mins, all looked good a few bubbleswere coming out so looking good I thought. In the afternoon I nipped out to shops coolant level a little low so topped up/ no leaks, then the car wash and on the way home the temp shot up to about 110 I pulled over and load screeching noise and from coolant cap, I waited twenty mins the drove home and just before I got in I could hear that screeching noise from coolant cap and car temp shot up again.
So I'm guessing there is a air lock? So how do I properly bleed the coolant system?
Many thanks Jon
