Desperate!!! My heater pipes keep bursting and I have flushed everything possible and bled the air. I don't know what to do anymore... Please help! It's a 2007 GT 3.2l.
dodgy thermostat failing closed, (very rare this happens ,normally fail open). solution, remove stat and test in boiling water with a thermometer to see at what temp it opens, most cars its somewhere between 85 and 95 C 90 as a good average. if banjaxed change.
leaky radiator,change it out.
leaking and failing water pump, change it out before it seizes taking your valves with it, do cambelt at some time.
coolant getting out as vapour whe the car is hot, when it cools down the same leak then draws air in from the atmosphere, with obvious consequences. solution ,get some fluorescent dye into the coolant and try and track where it is coming from. change offending hoses....if it is coming from around the jubilee clips and not a split or tear in the hoses its likely the system is being pressurized and points to head gasket.
head gasket, i mention it last as its the most costly of the few possibles that i know of but sadly from what you are describing it sound like the coolant system is being pressurized through the water jacket...check the oil and see if it's milky in appearance ,this would imply there is water in it, also look for steamy looking exhaust on start up and a sweet smell of coolant from it.
only solution is heads off V6 so there are two, heads will need skimming and pressure testing and then re-assemble , might as well lap in the valves whilst there so its a top end re-build, should do cam belt and tensioners idlers and water pump as well, in fact no point in not doing them.
TBH this can be a nightmare to diagnose but normally when I hear about failing hoses in the coolant system rather than one failing hose I go straight to headgasket, i'm right 70% of the time.
I hope its something very simple and less expensive.
