I have noticed my 2.0TS leaks oil, one or two big drips every time I park (maybe when driving to I guess), a bit larger than a 50P.
I checked and it is coming from between the engine block and bell housing. some oil can be seen in the block/bell housing join from about half way up on the radiator side, and also on the rear top of this join. It's not from the head joint, cam cover join or the 2 blanking plugs in the block above the bell (balancer shaft seals?).
From this post it seems like it might be the crankshaft oil seal? Any one concur?
If so, does anyone know the cost of that seal/housing, and how much to fit? I guess if I get it fixed I should replace the clutch at the same time, save the labour later (its done 70K miles)?
I was also wondering about the engine stop leak things you can get - Wynns 'Engine stop leak' seal conditioner in particular - if its because the seal dries out do you think they might work, or will they bugger up other things?
Finally what about changing to 10W60 instead of 10W40?
Many thanks for any advise folks.
