Unless you are certified in Micro Miniature Surface Mount Repair & Reworking techniques, forget about trying to do ANYTHING to the ECU.
You have 3 Options:
A/ Clean plugs and connectors thoroughly with Iso-Propyl Alcohol. Or go to your local Auto store & buy can of Electrical
cleaner, see how you go.
B/ Purchase new VIRGIN never been used ECU (expensive)
C/ Or the usual route, purchase s/hand ECU from wreckers from EXACT same model & specs as yours. (2001 2.5 V6 Q4)
You will need ALL the following from the ONE CAR!
And the transponder chip out of the Key FOB. You do not need the key. barrel lock or the FOB themselves, just put new
chip in your Key FOB.
As long as the s/hand ones are working, swap them over for yours and you'll be good to go. Cost will depend on the deal you can get.
