Re: Newbie - 147 Questions
I get 45 to 50 mpg with the 1.9 jtd, its a manual. I really wouldnt touch a sillyspeed myself after the sheer volume of people on here with problems. Might be a good system on paper but doesnt seem too reliable at all. Some like, some dont.
The manual box is light, slick and sporty, if you really must get an auto then i suppose you would have to take your chances, but the diesel manual is the strongest most reliable combo of them all.
(The posts speak for themselves. I saw my first post on diesel cambelt breakage today ever, and there's very few posts regarding manual diesels with big faults. Im not saying they cant break, but they do seem to be very tough.)
