Meanwhile I am stripping the wing off a spare car I have to check what's behind , so I'll post what I find.
The car I am stripping has that big grommet behind the wheel arch cover behind the wheel.
I think I have discovered my leak , after stripping out the inner wing , I ran the house over various sections from behind the wheel and on the arch up to the underside of the wing , big grommet at the bottom ok .
Then at the top of the wing amongst the bonnet hinge and where the abs lead disappears back down under the wing, not enough to worry about there , but the hose slipped to send water to the right of and forward of the bonnet hinge area where a hole drains out of this area , again to the inner wing and wheel arch as normal , I know , but on checking the footwell again it was full of water, it couldn't get enough !
On closer inspection , running my knife down a joint which has a lip (where the abs lead is attached) , all the way down underneath this drain was a hole at the very top which leads to a void between the inner wheel arch and a panel next to that , the same void that connects to the inner sill , also the same space you see behind the large grommet at the bottom of the inner panel.
So it selant time this afternoon, and here's hoping!
