nah, probably spot on. Mine did it after 2 days of ownership, and its still under 30 day dealercare and 2yr extended warranty after that, they are replacing mine on tue.
I did see the clutch cylinder on ebay for £45, rrp £69 - it seems easy to replace from inside the car, 2 bolts and a bit of fluid (doesnt need bled if you clamp the pipes gently after removal - apparently)
If you dont want to get dirty then £180 sounds reasonable-ish, Arnold clark want the car for 4 to 5 hours to do mine! (they maybe think they have to replace the whole clutch....)
It just gets heavier and heavier too if you dont fix it, and eventually can stick, leaving you stranded.
