Timing out?

Hi guys -

What would be the symptoms if timing was slightly out on my twinnie?

Story is - purchased car with overdue timing belt change.
Only ran it as required to get it to garage to have belts / tensioners etc done - so never really got the chance to try the car out at higher revs.

Long story short - I just feel the thing doesn't pull as well as it should above 3000 rpm.

Engine revs to redline - obviously a bit stronger above 3000 - but seems to lack any real "urgency". and it also seems to have a slightly rougher feel (slight vibration) than I remember before the belt change too- but can't be sure about that.

I seem to remember someone on here finding their timing had been slightly out when they changed their own timing belts. So it is obviously the case that they will run a little out.

Is there any easy way to check without faffing with geting inside the cam box / getting cam locks etc?
