I have not heard much about Firela, but what I have heard has been alright, i'm a south London boy myself but since owning Alfa's have lived in Guildford. It's actually less aggro to go all the way to Bournemouth to Autolusso than trust a local Indie with it. I wouldn't go anywhere else now and suggest from south London its only an hour and 20 mins away if you leave early enough.
the mac thing, yeah its a pain, I use one for work as Logic and various other bits of music software work best, and the wife is a graphic designer so needs must
but I run a PC too as there are just some things that won't work otherwise.
enjoy the car
re the JTS get them to look the camshafts over when they do the cambelt as they are know to have issues, I would go as far as to say if you can get a set from a beakers in good nick buy them as if you have to buy new they are £400 each!.
I found myself in this unhappy position when i took my previous JTS engined GT down to the alfa workshop for a cam belt and water pump, after much research after i discovered i could get a used set for around £60...too late by then as I had to do it whilst they were in there, labour charge to fit a new camshaft after would be the same as cam belt again.
with these engines its good to have them available as and when the time comes. hardening issues at the factory with them + the direct injection diluting the oil with fuel, this leads to insufficient lubrication of the top end and camshaft wear, normally on the exhaust side. If I had kept the car i would have definitely invested in a set to go with me at cambelt time.
