OK the car is officially for sale. I have beat myself up enough over it but sadly have no choice financially.
I am going to take some new pictures of it when cleaned but there are plenty already within this thread : -
Alfa Romeo GT 3.2 V6
2004 (cheaper tax bracket)
81k Miles (will go up slightly)
Dark grey Leather
5 former keepers
10 Months MOT
Optional Extras :
Original satnav/phone (with GB and Euro discs)
Reverse parking sensors
18" original spoke alloys
Q2 LSD (with badge on boot)
Scorpion cat back exhaust system (fitted in May 2015, receipt available). Sound is out of this world!
Parrot Bluetooth phone kit (fitted in June 2015)
Autolusso Silicone Induction & Hoses (in red)
Work carried out since I have taken ownership :
The following work was completed by AFH1 in May/June 2015 (fully receipted for £2122.27...there has been well over £3000 spent on the car in the last year altogether)
Cambelt, water pump, aux belt replaced
New head gaskets
Replace spark plugs
New door straps (drivers & passenger)
Lambda switch 1 above cat
New passenger side heated seat switch
New battery (just last week)
I have also had the following jobs completed by my friend who is a mechanic
4 x new tyres
Fitting of replacement front flexi exhaust pipes
New Bosch windscreen wipers
2 x brake discs
New brake pads
New rear brake caliper
New handbrake cables
Fix oil leak (advisory on MOT)
The brake calipers have been repainted in Ferrari Red with white Brembo lettering
The alloys wheels have be refurbished in the original silver, they took a week to do so as you can imagine they look fantastic
The red lettering on the engine bay has been repainted and rocker and plenum cover polished
Bad Points :
I would rather be honest, they are all small jobs in comparison to what I have had sorted so far mind. I wish I could have fully sorted it but we have to remember it is a 12 year old car, plus it would be boring to have an Alfa Romeo with nothing that requires doing to it!
The reverse parking sensors do not work, they beep which is a good sign but just not when they should
Drivers side heated seat switch is not working (a new switch is required)
Damaged sill on passenger side due to tyre man (thanks!!)
Some slight cracking on the paintwork about an inch or so long on the top of the back bumper
A scuff on the passenger side front bumper
Unfortunately the previous owner who was a user of this forum didn't get the service book stamped in his time of his ownership. He ensured me it was serviced yearly by a now defunct indie in Chesterfield, I forget the name of it, who also fitted the Q2. There are stamps in the book from pre his ownership and a stamp from AFH1 when they did the service for me including cambelt/top end rebuild (with all invoices).
As you can imagine with all the work that has been carried out the engine is as sweet as, with a smooth clutch to add to the fun, it feels like a new car in fact, I suppose it almost is with the money I have spent thus far!! The Scorpion cat back just sets it off perfectly with a stunning grumble and then roar when you put your foot down, which is often. It has both keys and the log book, service book and manual. It is light on receipts from pre-my ownership but I have made sure it is running again as it should be. I am sure Martin at AFH1 would answer any questions you have regarding the car and the engine rebuild work that has been done, just mention Graham (a gold customer!!). I get people talk to me about the car a fair bit in petrol stations, car parks etc so it is certainly a head turner.
The car cost me a tad under £5000 just over a year ago (which I thought was a bargain until...) and with the £3000 plus spent on it I thought £5995 (sensible offers considered of course) sounds a very reasonable price considering the type of work done to it.
Any questions give me a shout via this thread or PM. I don't think I can be any more honest than what I have put in this thread so at least you know if you are interested exactly what you will be seeing.
I am willing to do a swap deal with a Brera 2.4 or 159 Ti 2.4 or a 147 Ducati Corse 1.9 JTDm. I may consider a GT in Cloverleaf, SE or Blackline (1.9 JTDm) guise or a good standard model
