156 selespeed probs again!!!

it started off a month ago whilst driving through brixton of all places,at traffic lights it revved like mad in 2nd gear and the number 2 flashed, pulled over turned engine off and prayed, restarted fine, thank god...

i had previously noticed some clear sticky stuff all over my car, thinking it was a can of beer poured over it.in fact it after a rub down the wing with my finger it turned out to be selespeed fluid.it had not been over filled or anything.

checked fluid and replaced what was missing with the correct fluid, also disconected the pump wires and connected straight to battery and the pump seemed to work, when i open the door i can hear it building the pressure aswell, just hope it isnt the actuator again.

any advice from you alfa experts would be greatly appreciated.cheers

You need to find out where ite Selespeed fluid is coming out.
Is it just via the breather pipe, or is it somewhere else?

Re: 156 selespeed probs again!!!

hi thanks 4 reply, coming out of breather pipe as all around the black cover,(think that was where i put to much in)

i left the car all weekend and it left an oil mark on drive and had found its way through the nearside wheel arch, just got to clean up as it could have been from where i overfilled previousely
selespeed level is on min now where as b4 it was above max,so i am pretty sure i got a leak somewhere.

is there a common place as the black pipes on the resevoir seem all where they should be.

thanks again.
