2lt ts in a 2001 156 wont start
Got this car (not running) The problem apparently was the crank angle sensor and an unknown person tried to fix it. the crank sensor checks at 900 ohms so i think that's ok. the story goes that the head was removed to do the job and valve timing was now one tooth out because of that.....yer a bit strange. Anyway i have reset the timing with the cam locks, inlet was out two teeth and the exhaust one tooth. It still will not start but backfires, have done MAR reset, it has compression, spark and fuel. My question is with the exhaust cam sprocket, can it be turned to be out of sequence with the cam causing the cam sensor to be out? it has one bolt in the middle. God only knows what this guy done, i also found two bolts to be missing where the air box bolts to the inlet manifold, could this be the problem? and what size and thread should they be? any input would be welcome.
