another cold hesitation thread

i know many 156 owners suffer from hesitation and power loss before the engine has warmed up, i understand it happens on the 1.6 1.8 2.0 & 2.5.

on my 1.8TS i suffer total power loss intermittently for the first minute or 2 of driving if i dont let the engine warm up first. when i put my foot on the accelerator i get nothing, if anything it slows down.

thorough investigation has shown it can not be the MAF, lambda, plugs/leads or coils, coolant temp sensor or throttle body. in past threads i see other people who've had the same problem and tried the same things and also had no luck.

has anyone managed to beat the cold hesitation? it seems to me that the problem is the cold management strategy causing insufficient fueling because as soon as the cylinders warm up it runs fine. i know the ecu is aware of the cold because the idle rpm is raised, so i therefore also know that the ecu will be using the cold strategy for fueling and ignition.
