147 TS not charging battery
My 2004(old style) 147 is not charging the battery.
I have had the Alternator off (what a ball ache that is) and had it tested by an alternator specialist and he said it was working perfectly as is the voltage regulator on the back of it.
If you charge the battery over night to get the battery up to the correct voltage, then put the battery in the car.
As you start the car the battery voltage drops a bit, then as the car fires up, the voltage rises to 14.3 volts. all good so far.
Once it peaks at full voltage(which only takes a few seconds) the voltage starts to fall slowly but steadily and whilst the car is running, it never recovers.
Eventually the voltage is so low the Motor control System lights up on dash board.
If you recharge the battery over night and then use the car, you might get 4 or 5 starts out of it before the car wont start anymore.
We have taken all the fuses out one by one with no effect except the one that stop the engine once removed.
The fuse links on the top of the positive terminal have been checked and they are intact.
Does anyone have any ideas on this please.
