yeah your spot on. The new price is a lot of cash, id rather get it down the road a bit for a lot less. The diesels will probably change the depreciation problem a bit tho because they are so good.
I suppose you expect good economy with a diesel, but big powerful ones hover nearer the petrol end of the mpg scale, but it shows when you sink the right foot eh? How they produce such a powerful engine with such good economy is a feat in itself.
I love the rush of acceleration, I always change up by 3k except in exceptional use, and mostly the low down torque is so massive that I can just short shift at 2500 rpm and dig the throttle again in each gear, the grunt is simply enormous and addictive. Other cars are a blur in the distance, even up a steep incline. mmmmmmm
