Re: Creaky clutch pedal in 147
Had this one my car - its the clutch master cylinder. There's nothing actually wrong with it as such, well not mechanically anyway, but there's a part that slides into the cylinder and it's that which creaks due to the passage of time. I got the fabulous guys at PeakAlfa to lubricate the cylinder. They said you have to be very precise where you grease because I sprayed WD40, then silicon grease, then white grease everywhere at intervals of 2 weeks but to no avail. They diagnosed the fault straight away - apparently its pretty common - and lubricated the cylinder. All was peaceful for 2 weeks, before the creaking returned. The part is just aged, so lubricating it only solves the problem for a couple of weeks. Ended up replacing the master cylinder in the end as the creaking sound annoyed me.
