156 key programming
I have a 156 with a black flip key. Phase 2 i think.
I recently had a key repaired by Chris C - top bloke. Its a spare which works, transmits and starts the car. However the remote signal (to open the doors and boot) needs programming to the ECU (or so chris has said).
I've tried the 'press the button and put battery in' method to re-attach the key, but Chris reckons its been done too many times and needs reprogramming.
I have fiatecuscan (registered version), but there is not option there to recode a key. So i take it to an local independent specialist who has told me they need a code to program. I had the 'key card' which had a 5 digit code on it but he said they need another code as that is for programming the immobilizer?!
Does anyone know who can supply the code (i guess a dealer) or where it might be located?
I asssumed as I had the card there was only one code?
