I'm a prospective Alfa owner, and I'm completely in love with the way an Alfa looks and sounds, but I've been doing some research (as any good prospective car buyer will do) and there have been some really mixed reviews about the Selespeed... some love it and some think it's a load of rubbish as most of you would already know.
There is some concerned that the car I buy may turn out to be a dud (as a result of a faulty Selespeed), and will cost more to repair than I am able to afford.
There was something written (link here
) about the 2nd gen Selespeed being better than the 1st gen... is there any way to tell which it is or if there is such a thing?
I've also found alot of helpful information that will aid me in choosing a 147 in this site, but they cover basic mechanical checks.. engine oil, radiator etc. Is there some ingenious way to check that the Selespeed will not fail on me after the test drive?
Yes some of you will say "Just get the manual!" and I would if I could, but I have to think about my partner who can't drive a manual
Anyway, I look forward to hearing for all you veteran Alfa owners. THANKS in advance! I can't wait to join the club!!!
