Being mindful that we are going off topic, but enjoying a grown up debate.
Ask me 10 years ago, would i ever envisage owning a Kia, I'd have said 'No Chance'
Not only do I have one, but now the wife has a Kia also.
I think there's only one SUV on the market today better looking than the current incarnation of the Sportage, and that would be the Evoque. Alas, unfortunately, just slightly out of my reach.
I agree, it's not exciting to drive, but that's why i have a summer toy.
The model I have is well equipped, with many standard features which would be optional extras on the Kuga/Qashqui/CX-5 backed by a 7 year warranty to boot.
A manufacturer to offer a 7 year warranty, must mean that they are confident.
Incidentally, i will be crawling under my daughters unreliable rust bucket 147 this weekend.
Just to go off topic a tad further, without doubt, the worst car I ever had was a Citroen Xantia company car.
I was doing around 1000 miles per week.
With the service interval being 9000 miles, this meant a garage trip every 9 weeks.
Mine went in about every 4 weeks either for a service or something fixing.
This went on for 3 years.
And that is the gospel truth.
