Re: type of selespeed oil
Mate, I've worked on cars (including many Alfas) for 20-odd years now. Please forgive me for jumping to conclusions, but from your posts I get the impression that perhaps you do not have much practical experience of working on cars in general, and Alfas in partcular.
I strongly suggest that you take your car to a dealer (preferably a reputable Alfa franchise) otherwise you run the serious risk of bu**ering up your selespeed system (hoping you have not already done so by adding engine oil) by draining the system without the appropriate knowledge.
I guess that by reading this forum, you have gathered that the selespeed mech can be 'temperemental' to put it mildly. If you are still going it alone, best of luck! Take digital photos as you dismantle, especially if it's going to be in bits for a few days. Take your time and don't resort to violence if you get stuck, just take a few deep breaths and have a cuppa instead!
Good luck, let us know how it goes either way.
p.s. Was that OK, zulu ferret?
