The GT's boot..
In my ongoing quest to take the edge off the boom on my exhaust between 1500 and 2600k rpm, I've insulated the spare wheel well, as the 3.2 doesn't come with a space saver, and also the rear of the boot underneath where the plastic trim sits as it's just metal then plastic with nothing in between.
The good news is that the bass from the bose subwoofer has tightened up no end and road noise has been reduced, but I still have the boom. I'm using something (don't laugh) called thermawrap..some guys on an audi forum have had great success with it regarding exhaust drone, but mainly in saloon form and not advants. It's very light and very cheap, so I though it was worth a shot as the excess on the roll can do what it's meant for and that is to wrap a boiler or put behind radiators to reflect heat back into the room. It's not meant for sound blocking but it does work for some reason.
What I want to know is that inside the GT's boot, at the sides behind the trim/subwoofer is there any sound proofing? or is it just bare metal? and is there anywhere else in the boot that could be done?
