156 2.0 JTS Fuel leaking
So my problems began about 3 months ago, it was misfiring under load and while diagnosing it was pinned down to injector 3. So I did the work and replaced it, ran perfectly afterwards however a small fuel leak became apparent, realising this and again did some diagnosing and common sense I must of split an o-ring on the injector, stupid mistake I know! So 10 days ago, I set about again getting to the injector being extra careful as per usual, bought some new grease for them cleaned them and the fuel rail up greased everything very well being a little paranoid. Put it all back together and all works great, no leak when the system primes and no misfire, did about 200km and still no leak or misfire.
At this point I get offered to go on a drive in the mountains, I go and after about 1.5hrs drive I pull over to chat to friends and start smelling fuel, turn off engine and hear fuel hissing out. Sounded similar but louder than the O-rings split, so drive the car home, and decide to take a look the next day, primed it, started no problem and no leak, drove it, no leak. Then it was required for it to do a 1hr trip return with half a tank of fuel, on the way it started to smell like fuel and then on the way back it drained the entire tank to empty (after 40km), so got 10l of fuel in a container and 4.5km later it ran really close to out of fuel at a servo (filled 64.11 litres). So this was evident it was a very fast fuel leak, now on the way home about 10km left it started misfiring consistently (cyl 1 and 2) and struggled to get me home.
Today I started the car it is still misfiring and un-drivable, it doesn't leak fuel when the key is turned to ON, but if I use FES to activate the fuel pump relay it does, and it is a lot of it, no hissing, it almost sounds like it pours out of it. Sounds like it's around cyl 1.
I am loosing hope with this car, I love it to bits, but my wallet cannot keep up nor can my schedule. If anyone has any idea what is causing my pain, please advise.
I apologise for the long essay, but I really want this car to be running at its best, as I do love it!!
