I'm guessing it is possibly one of the switch pins. Behind the, or rather below the switch are small plastic pins that push on the microswitches below.
If you take the switch out (a single screw below on the door card) and disconnect it.
You can then very, very carefully pull the top fascia from the casing of the switch (from what I recall). This will expose the plastic pins, they fall out very easily so watch and be careful. You will be able to reconnect the switch and press the microswitch to confirm that works. If not then it may well be replacement complete driver's side window switch. Ebay is your friend.
There is also a control switch, bottom right (viewing from inside the car) of front driver's door. Occasionally (was for me) faulty.
Priorities I find, are usually someone else's.
