First Alfa, reliability issues
Hi, so I bought my first Alfa back in march. Its a 2001 156 1.8 veloce and has been impeccable up until June, where it had a crank sensor go. Replaced with a cheap after market part away I go. 3-4 weeks later whilst bleeding air out of system having replaced thermostat I notice the cambelt tensioner wobbling about everywhere. I manage to de tension the belt and then decide to take it to a garage and get them to replace the tensioner, belt, water pump and camshaft oil seals as they seemed to leak. ( took a while to save up to get this done on apprentice wage ! ) 2 weeks later I recieve crank sensor symptoms again! ( bare in mind the part is no more than a month old and prior to that its been off the road for most of that time) I shall test it to make sure it is the crank sensor, but ideally I would love to put a genuine part back in as its an annoying fiddly job. But I struggle to get in contact with any genuine suppliers. I emailed Alfa romeo a while back to no reply and tried calling Alfa workshop over Essex numerous times but never to be put through to parts department :/
Anyway I'm stuck with a Volvo 340 at the moment and sorely missing my Alfa and unable to source genuine parts. Any pointers as to where I might be able to source genuine parts?
Oh and its an introductory post,
