Hi, when I did this, I undid the bolt that goes through the fork and the wishbone, that allows a bit of wiggle room and there is no need to undo strur assembly. However as that has now happened, I think the best thing is to remove the strut, undo the big bolt at the bottom of the fork, then the one where the damper goes into the top of the fork, knock the fork off the bottom of the damper, be careful not to damage the driveshaft boot as it is easily done. Remove the strut and top mount, make sure it all assembled correctly with your spring compressors if needed.
To put back together, bolt the strut and top mount together and bolt to chassis, attach the fork to the bottom of the strut and bolt up, then line up the bottom of the fork to the wishbone and bolt up, then finally bolt the upper wishbone ballpoint.
HTH and good luck.
